Exch 2013 Forwarding Mail from local account to External SMTP user

$

New 2013 implementation... Two Servers (Front End and Back End) both running Exchange 2013.

I am having trouble sending a local AD Exchange mailbox mail to external SMTP address.  I have tried several options.. I have created an "contact" as was required in previous versions.  I have created new AD accounts with external SMTP addresses, I have also attempted to use the scriptlet:

Set-Mailbox -Identity "%AD-USER%" -DeliverToMailboxAndForward $true -ForwardingSMTPAddressexternaluser@mail.com  (%AD-USER% was actual AD Username/mailbox) andexternaluser@mail.com was actual receipient SMTP address (username@gmail.com)

Local AD Mailbox receives the mail appropriately however I have enabled forwarding everyway I know how and nothing seems to work.  If I send mail straight from my account to the destination SMTP address, they get it; just not if it is sent to the local AD account then forwarded via -DeliverToMailboxAndForward command...

Please help.. I have several users that I need to have their mail CC'd to an external SMTP address.. Previous versions of Exchange required a "Contact" to be created and then the mailbox forwarded to that contact, which had a SMPT mail address...

Im not adverse to implementing via powershell if I can just get it to work... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and needed.

MX Records

Hi All,

I have an Exchange 2013, all working just fine, lovely.

I need to collect emails for another domain, which is registered on the Certificate, can I just point the MX records for this domain to the A record mail address for the existing domain mail is being collected for.

So to summarise

Domain1 mail currently goes to mail.domain1.com ( A Records in place all works fine )

Can I point

Domain2 mx records to mail.domain1.com and everything just work?

Domain2 is currectly a 1and1 webmail pop, which is forwarding to domain1

I understand that accepted domains etc with in Exchange will all need doing, it's the exteranl mail flow I am concerned about.

Many Thanks

Richard

Exchange stops receiving SMTP emails when sending large amount of invoices.

We have an exchange server and a computer with an invoicing program loaded on it. At various times of the month, the invoicing program will go through our database and generate email invoices. The problem comes when we try to send them all at once. (Roughly 800 invoices) Each email is slightly different and each email only has one destination, but if we try to send more than about 50 at a time the exchange server will receive the first roughly 100 (amount varies) and then not receive the rest though the sending app says all messages were sent. I'm sure the issue lays with exchange because we used a simple free smtp mail server program for testing and it received them all without issue.  Is there a place where you set how many SMTP messages the server will accept in a single session/connection?  Looking at the queue I can also see that the messages arrive one after another at roughly 2-3 second intervals.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now i add accepted domain @xyz.com

I created email policy and i can create user 2nd domain user2nd@xyz.com

if i send emails from user2nd@xyz.com to 1st@a.com its working and also received emails from 1st@a.com.

If I send mails from user2nd@xyz.com on gmail. i received the mails on gmail also.

But when I send email from gmail or from any other external email to user2nd@xyz.com it don't receive. May someone can help me to know what is the problem please.

The users regularly need to browse sites in the .uk   Also they email to the .uk extension.

I cannot figure out how to permanently allow such access and email usage.

I have added .uk to allow list but at first it worked and now it does not.

We are using Exchange 2010

Thanks,

Messages not being routed to JunkMail Folder

$

We have just migrated to Exchange 2013 from 2010. It appears we have one user whose spam is not being routed to their JunkMail Folder. We are using EOP and our Content Filter Action setting is to "Move messages to Junk Email folder"

We have applied this transport rule at the top of our list:

Move EOP Detected Spam (SFV:SPM) to Junk Email Folder
If the message...
'X-Forefront-Antispam-Report' header contains ''SFV:SPM''
Do the following...
Set the spam confidence level (SCL) to '6'
Rule mode
Enforce
Additional properties
Sender address matches: Header

Version: 14.0.0.0

AntiSpam is not installed on the Exchange server

Organization SclJunkThreshold is set to 4

No mailbox SCL thresholds are configured.

Email header is showing X-Forefront-Antispam-Report: contains SFV:SPM and X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: 6

Email is still going into JunkMail Folder

Not sure what Outlook Junk setting should be set to but I have tried Off, Low and High with no luck.

Can anyone point to a solution?

Exchange 2010 to 2013 Migration- orphaned 2010 servers in Edge subscription

$

Migration of Exchange 2010 to 2013 was carried out.  Steps to decommission the 2010 servers was done, including removing the Exchange software fro the servers.  Looks like some pieces were missed though as the 2010 servers still appear in the smarthostdelivery and shadow redundancy on the 2010 edge transport server.

How can these be removed?

Unable to Send Mail

After working fine for years, no one in my Exchange Organization can send e-mail. When they send a new message, it does not appear in the Sent mail and never makes it to a server queue (as far as I can tell). When I look at the delivery report for one of these messages, I get "Delivery report information for this message isn't available." This is true whether using Active Sync, OWA, or standard Outlook. Inbound SMTP works fine. I use separate Mailbox and Edge servers; CAS and Hub services are combined. Can you think of anything I can do to troubleshoot?

Getting Messge Undeliverable errors on email account that is active

Hi All,

We are experiencing the same problem below but I don't know how to solve it in Exchange 2013.

We have an employee that is restarting his position with our company. His account was removed when he left years ago but had a contact with the email address first.last@company.us . I deleted that contact and set him up a new AD and email account. I have his account setup as the first.last@company.us, but I keep getting

"The e-mail address you entered couldn't be found. Please check the recipient's e-mail address and try to resend the message. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk."

I checked and the email address is listed in email addresses. One of the Alias email addresses work fine, but the one that is on his cards (the one above) does not. Any ideas?

DuplicateDeliver

We are having problems with emails being dumped
because they have duplicate message ID's. The message are actually different
emails. The sender, receiver, time stamp and content are the same, but the
difference is the attachment.

If I could get some help with disabling this for that user or getting Exchange
realize that these emails are actually different and deliver them would be
great.

Hello! Please help me to solve the problem with Search-MailboxAuditLog and Search-AdminAuditLog (in ECP).I have test environment with EXCHANGE_2013_CU6_RUSSIAN (all exch roles on it) and want to check audit before production use.I was surprised that audit no working, i do that:

1) Enable and check audit for Test mailbox

2) Add Delete Actions to Owner of mailbox (in my case - Test) for fast checking

3) Login to Outlook under Test and delete 1 item, after thatcheck folder statistic for Test mailbox

4) Return to Outlook and delete one more item and see statistic again (for sure)

5) As we can see something write to audit folder, it's good, BUT:<o:p></o:p>Resume:Search-MailboxAuditLog - NO RESULT, with any parameters

Another problem -> Search-AdminAuditLog - HAVE RESULT, but from ECP i don't see it.

My TEST DB have healthy status of indexes, no problem with system mailbox but i have russian exchange. Maybe trouble in different language (not English) wrong parse logs or something else? I really need audit reports in production, it's very serious question, please help!!!

Pulling email addresses from a mailbox

I have a request from a client to extract email addresses only from all senders to a marketing mailbox. the purpose is to use just the addresses and create a marketing distribution list. The mailbox has been in use for over a year and has thousands of emails from different sender's. Would anyone have a trick to query the box and get a list of just sender's addresses from the inbox?

Exchange 2013 TransportRoles\Data\Temp filling up disk

$

I have a single multi-role Exchange 2013 server and it would appear that it's not properly maintaining the temp files for the transport service.  I still have all those folder locations at their default and the problem folder is c:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\data\Temp

I never had a problem with this in Exchange 2007 but I am used to running a PowerShell script nightly to clean up the IIS log files.  Do I need to do something similar for this temp folder?  Is there a setting I can adjust so that Exchange will limit the size of this folder itself?  If I stop the transport service and delete the files here will I lose anything?

Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Exchange 2013 - Mail left at ISP-how to retrieve

$

Using Exchange Server 2013 for about 2 months with both roles on one server.  Anti-spam is disabled and we have no other spam filters presently. We have the default connectors for Sending and Receiving via MX records. Our ISP (Time Warner) host our email. We began to notice some emails had not been received for a couple of our 10 users, so we logged into the web interface for the mail box of just one of our users to check if anything was in the Inbox. Sure enough, there were actually several emails over that 2-month period that the user never received. We have not checked other users yet but suspect that they have emails left there too.

1. It seems that if our Exchange Server doe snot Receive the emails, they remain at the ISP. How to we determine why this happened? What should we check in our configuration, etc.

2. How do we retrieve the mail now setting at the ISP in the user's Inbox? We use Outlook 2013/2010 as email client for users.

Thanks!
