Exchange 2013: How To Change Email Attachment Size Limit

$
0
0

I think I can change it through ECP on Send/Receive Connectors, right? I know that's for Message Size Limit, not for Attachment, but I think there's not a big difference as for my case.

After changing it, what services I need to restart to make it work?

Thanks.

550 4.4.7 Queue expired, Message expired

Hi Guys,

We got NDR for some domains with error code #550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired ##;

So i go to the queue viewer and see some queue stuck there with last error

1. 451 4.4.0 Primary target IP address responded with : "421 4.2.1 unable to connect";

2. 451. 4.4.0 DNS query failded;

Any suggestions for troubleshooting?
If the mails and queues keep failing, will them be deleted or moved to somewhere finally?
As i monitor the queue recently and the queue is always changing, not one specific queue stuck there all the time.

Thanks!

Exchange 2010 NDR Relay

$

We have a server that is setup to relay e-mail through Exchange to students that sign up for classes.  They are e-mailed their username/password to the e-mail address they enter on a web form that the server processes and then sends the e-mail.

If a student enters their e-mail address incorrectly, is there a way to generate an NDR and send it to an Administrator?  Trying to think through this scenario, maybe asking students to enter their e-mail address twice to make sure they've entered it correctly.

I've read some about enabling protocol logging and/or message tracking but that seems tedious and reactive instead of proactive.

Just curious what other options are available...

Hello,

I setup a journaling mailbox and would like the contents (emails) of this mailbox to be sent to an external compliance email address.

The journal mailbox is accumulating email messages so that is working fine.

When I create a Journal Rule, under EMC, Organization, Hub Transport, I have the following:

Send journal reports to email address: compliance@company.com (Created an E2010 Mail contact)

Scope: Global

Journal Messages for recipient: JournalMailbox (This mailbox is accumulating all emails)

Clicked OK.

*** Problem: Emails do not get delivered to the external email address in the E2010 mail contact.

Can someone help me please?

Thank you in advance!!

Create NEW DLT Template - Exchange 2013

I would like to create new DLT template, that encompass local regulation requirement and deployed to Exchange 2013 infrastructure. Templates located here : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj150530(v=exchg.150).aspx  are useless for my situation.
Does anyone know how template structure “xml” must look. There is no information how to create  policy template.

Undeliverable message is returning when sending mail to NON SMTP Address format

Hello ,

We have a requirement to send fax from outlook client to rightfax server

Softwares :

Exchange Server 2013

Outlook 2007/2010/2013

The approach we have thought like below .

1. Email Address format is like [RFAX:John Doe@/FN=555-555-1212]

   2.  Created one user mail box called "RightFax" to these fax mails.

         3. Transport rule to redirect   mails to "RightFax" user when recipient email address contains word "RFAX"

The issue is like below

When we send mail through outlook client it is returning undeliverable mail to sender like below

From  : System Administrator

SUbject : Undeliverable

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient
RFAX:John Doe@/FN=555-555-1212

Could you please us on this.

Exchange 2007 reply to address broken

Below is the header information (I have anonymized the information) from an email send a few days ago that was reported to me because when User1 replied to it, instead of it going back to ProblemUser, it went to User3.  Upon examination of the header, we can see that ProblemUser's reply to address appears to be setup as User3 - there is no rhyme or reason behind this.  I just checked again for the sake of sanity and ProblemUsers email reply to setting is still set toproblemuser@domain.com.  I have no clue why this is happening.  I have just asked problemuser to send me an email to verify its still an issue but wanted to get some feedback in the meantime.  Header reads as follows:

Hi,

E2K13CU1 with default settings added to working existing E2K10SP3 organization.

Mail doesn't leave Drafts folder (sent form OWA).

Telnet to server at port 25 responds after MAIL FROM: with:

421 4.3.2 Service not active (exactly - didn't found anything like this anywhere)

I checked DNS (also set custom DNS config in E2K13 ecp, all services are running, no custom AV, no low disk space, no events.

Thank you

Richard

SMTP Alias issue

Hey all, I am hoping someone could shed some light on this issue.

Long story short, (I know this is a 2013 forum but I am doing this on 2003, I still hope someone can help)

I created an email alias for one user (intern) when that user was finished I tried removing it from that user and adding it to another user....exchange allowed me to do this and did not give any errors.

However,

Now it seems exchange thinks that alias is still attached to the old user and as such does not route to the new intern and does not give any error when sent to that address. Is there any way I could fix this?

Thanks a lot!

Exchange 2010 SP2 rules - actions language

$

Hello,

I have a little problem with our Exchange Environment. Every server in our setup has three roles (CAS,MBX,HUB) but only on one server action descriptions in Transport Rules are in ...russian language. It's really weird, because we have only English version on servers. Regional setting are Polish (our native language). We don't have any admin who use other language except polish or english. All rules are affected on this server (old one or if I start create new one) but all rules are working fine.

Any ideas what is going on?

Exch 2013 Forwarding Mail from local account to External SMTP user

$

New 2013 implementation... Two Servers (Front End and Back End) both running Exchange 2013.

I am having trouble sending a local AD Exchange mailbox mail to external SMTP address.  I have tried several options.. I have created an "contact" as was required in previous versions.  I have created new AD accounts with external SMTP addresses, I have also attempted to use the scriptlet:

Set-Mailbox -Identity "%AD-USER%" -DeliverToMailboxAndForward $true -ForwardingSMTPAddressexternaluser@mail.com  (%AD-USER% was actual AD Username/mailbox) andexternaluser@mail.com was actual receipient SMTP address (username@gmail.com)

Local AD Mailbox receives the mail appropriately however I have enabled forwarding everyway I know how and nothing seems to work.  If I send mail straight from my account to the destination SMTP address, they get it; just not if it is sent to the local AD account then forwarded via -DeliverToMailboxAndForward command...

Please help.. I have several users that I need to have their mail CC'd to an external SMTP address.. Previous versions of Exchange required a "Contact" to be created and then the mailbox forwarded to that contact, which had a SMPT mail address...

Im not adverse to implementing via powershell if I can just get it to work... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and needed.

Exchange 2010 Default Receive Connectors

$

Hi,

I want to understand the default receive connectors that are created in Exchange when you install the hub transport role. I read that the Defaultserver_name is used to receive mail from other hub transport servers. We have 3 CAS servers in our environment, two out of the three are mailbox servers. Would it be wise to remove 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255 from the accepted IPs and add just the IPs of the 3 CAS servers?

The Client server_name is used for non-MAPI clients. That's not Outlook, correct? If not, can I remove this connector?

Thanks

How to open SMTP for (authenticated) relay

$

Hi,
I have a 2013 installed and working - both with incoming mail and outgoing mail when using Outlook and similar clients.

No problems sending mail from and to either internal or external domains. However, I want to authenticate with the standard SMTP server with a username + password and send e-mail using "standard clients".

I cannot get this to work. In code, when I authenticate through SMTP (user/pass) and tries to send an email from "user@mydomain.com" to "user@anotherdomain.com", I get the error:

Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay.

I don't really know how to set this up to get it working. In an existing Exchange 2007, I had no problem setting this up, but I cannot get it to work in 2013. If I add "*" to accepted domain, it works, of course, but that gives me an Open Relay.

I have a default send connector, mapped to the SMTP domain "*".

How do I configure so that all authenticated users can relay freely?

Exchange 2013- Message tracking- EventId FAIL Source SMTP

We have just started using EOP for our on-prem Exchange 2013 system.

Most mail is flowing nicely.  We have a few outside customers that the mail isn't getting delivered to users mailboxes.

I am looking at the message tracking logs for the on-prem Exchange server in powershell.  I see the eventid FAIL and source SMTP.  How do I get more information as to why it is failing?  I need to get this working and am not sure how.  As much detail as possible would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.
